Cambridge Dive Team recently took to Bradford for the annual Shipley novice competition, sending some of their youngest divers to represent the club.
Top performer of the weekend was Rufus Bord with a fantastic result in the Boys Group E event. Rufus stayed extremely consistent throughout the competition and managed to come home with a bronze medal, just one point off the silver!
Tobi Fayomi showed off her beautiful entries, scoring 8s from all judges on her straight fall from the 3m and receiving a total of 31.20 points. Overall, Tobi scored an excellent 145.30 points, which earnt her sixth place in a very tough event.
The Girls group C event was packed full, with forty three divers all competing for top finishes. Grace Hodge, Honor Creasy and Siena Kelly performed well, all securing good scores throughout the long event. In the Boys Group D event, Max Burnell showed off his confident jump to achieve a total score of 141.15. In the same event, Daniel Lock demonstrated his beautiful entries throughout the competition. Newcomer Carrie Ma, competing in the Girls Group D event, showed her promise scoring high marks throughout the competition. Just behind her were Daisy Chapman and Marta Morgan; both girls growing in confidence with more competition experience.
It was the first competition for a lot of the divers, including Amelia Aldridge, Fergus Aldridge and Caleb Whitear. These up and coming divers showed great potential in their first competition, staying cool and composed in a tough environment. CDT was out in full force and we look forward to seeing what they can achieve in the future.
Fantastic work from all!
